Decision08blog.com Offically Endorses John McCain
July 23, 2008
We have made the decision to endorse a candidate for President of the United States. With great thought and consideration we have chosen the Republican candidate Senator John McCain. The following is an explanation of our reasoning behind this choice.
Military and Government Experience
John McCain has experience in military affairs from his time in Vietnam to his time in the US Senate. He has worked on foreign policy issues for many years. He has the leadership to make sure we succeed in Irag and Afghanistan and the war on terror. He supported the troop surge when other candidates did not and the idea was unpopular. He knew it was necessary to quell the violence there. His opponent still does not acknowledge the surge has been and is working. John McCain will be able to make these such tough decisions based on facts and suggestions from commanders in the field. He has the insight necessary to complete our overseas missions and bring our troops home when our Homeland is once again safe from terrorists. He has the courage to deal with threats from terrorist groups and terrorist states. He won't back down from them. He won't allow them to destroy our way of life, and he won't invite them for coffee and doughnuts at the White House.
Economic and Constitutional Policies
John McCain is the best choice for President because he has sound Conservative policies and voting records on our economy and our constitution. He has proposed solutions to our current problems with oil and energy. He would allow more drilling and use of domestic reserves as well as tax cuts to help impact the cost of fuel in the near term.
His opponent just slams McCain's ideas for drilling without offering a viable substitute of his own. Also Senator McCain wants to give incentives for advances in technology that will help the crisis in the future. He also supports more nuclear power plants to ease the use of fossil fuels for our electricity needs.
He also supports iniatives such as wind and solar power and realizes that one technology won't solve all our problems. John McCain has proposals for solutions to the housing crisis that will help those that have been preyed upon by unsavory lending institutions. John McCain opposes tax increases that will likely come if his opponent is elected. He feels the tax code should be
reduced and tax burden on corporations brought in line with other top industrial countries to keep jobs and companies in our country instead of overseas. He feels the people can best spend their money, not the government.
John McCain is a defender of the constitution. He supports judges who apply the constitution as it is written and not how they twist it to meet their own political views. He supports the rights of the people to defend themselves and the individual right of law abiding citizens to own firearms. He supports judges with records like John Roberts and Samual Alito. He strongly advocates
preserving the constitution and the people's right to it and not judges' whims.
Healthcare and Government Reform
John McCain has proposed changes to our healthcare system that will work on the market system as our country is supposed to work. He is opposed to more bureaucracy and government waste to solve the healthcare problems in our country. He wishes to work with states to provide coverage for all Americans. He wishes to provide tax credits for families so they can choose the
coverage of their choice and have it be portable if they change jobs. He supports Health Savings Accounts and coverage for pre-existing conditions. He supports reforms for Medicare and Medicaid to ensure payments are processed properly and doctors are paid correctly.
John McCain wants to end earmark spending and properly spend the people's money for national uses and not individual pork projects. He has pledged to put the spotlight on these types of projects and the lobbyists that get these projects funded. He feels the government belongs to the people, not the lobbyist with the biggest check book. He wants to reform the tax code to create a more user friendly system for the American taxpayer.
He wants to reduce taxes AND spending and has proposed a one year bugetary period with no increase in spending except for essential items like military and homeland security in order to study each department and their budgetary needs.
He wants to ensure trade opportunities exist for our businesses overseas, but wants to help our workers become and stay competitive in the marketplace.
John McCain has proposed changes to Social Security, including personal savings accounts, that will keep it viable without tax increases and preserve promised benefits for seniors. He has also proposed changes to Medicare to reduce its burden on the government.
Conclusion
We have included only a small portion of John McCain's policies and the reasons why we believe he is the best candidate to be President of The United States. We believe his conservative values and a strong history of conservative policies along with his leadership skills are what this country needs to stay viable in this everchanging world. We hope you check out his website
www.johnmccain.com and read his policies and see that he is the best candidate. By the way we are also including a link to his opponent's website here. So check it out and compare the two to make an informed decision.
We also encourage you to learn about your state and local elected officials as they are very important. They make lots of decisions that affect your everyday life and the communities you live in. Just remember this country and the government bodies belong to you and not the lobbyists and politicians. Take care.
